Blow Up Public Education NOW

More bad news for Memphis City Schools in the most recent evaluation of said educational hope. Is there any hope left? I think not. This is going to take a country-wide realization that public education DOES NOT WORK, I repeat public education DOES NOT work. It will never work in its current form and it's past time accepting the norm. Don't you think?

  1. Well, really, public education does work and has worked for years. It just does not work with some students. Students enrolled to get a public education must be self disciplined, must respect authority, must come to school every day, and must be willing to follow directions and do real work. Now you figure out who the students are that fail and they do none of the above. Public schools can only do so much and can only work with students who come prepared. Guess which students do not come prepared? Is that public education's fault or the fault of those in charge of prepring these students for school? Obviously, all the Head Start programs are not working either nor are all the free breakfast and lunch programs. Government, ie, public schools, cannot do everything if parents cannot step up and do their job. They can only work with what they get. And no, it is not the fault of the teachers!! As a former school teacher, I saw no bad teachers in any of the schools I taught in. You cannot teach anyone to fish unless they can pay attention, follow directions, show up for the lessons, and practice and follow through.
